on "mornings on 2." i'm pam cook in for tori campbell today. >> good morning. i'm dave clark. >>> let's check your weather and traffic. steve, bundle up? >> absolutely. four and a half hours of pam cook. >> yes. >> i did see 52 at the los vakeras reservoir. napa airport, 30. concord, 24. altamont pass had gusts to 34. a line has formed from marin county back to the east bay. randy said light rain in walnut creek. it's very light. again, a lot of this not amounts to a hill of beans. we still get some of this working its way to the parts of the east bay, berkeley, kensington, maybe emeryville. there was a band along the san mateo coast but i guess it washed itself out. between brentwood, byron, oakley, there's been popping up a little bit. 40s and 50s on the temperatures. the only thing holding up the temperatures is the clouds and wind. the cold air arrives early this afternoon and then tonight for sure. mostly cloudy. a couple of light guy showers. 50s on the temperatures for almost everybody. here's sal. >>> steve, good morning. we're looking at a commute that's growing busier by the moment
'm tori campbell. >> good morning. i'm dave clark. >>> let's check weather and traffic. mark tamayo is here for steve paulson. >> good morning. it's very cold. we all know that. take a look at the numbers. these kind of surprised me. you can see clearlake oaks, 11 degrees. these are unofficial reports. you get an idea how cold it is. geyserville, 18. pes pescadero, 25. right now, it's 19 degrees in napa. widespread 20s out towards fairfield, walnut creek and livermore. san jose below freezing at 30 degrees. downtown san francisco, one of the warmer spots at 41. santa rosa in the mid-20s at 25. so obviously we've been talking all week about the freeze warning. it is in place due this morning. once again, we'll do it again. another round of very cold temperatures expected first thing tomorrow morning. we'll expect more and incoming rain that could mean a low snow level is coming up. sal has an update on traffic. >>> good morning to you. the traffic continues to move along pretty well. you will see a backup at the bay bridge toll plaza. it's going to be a little bit of a delay. it's ab
for tori campbell and we're gonna check weather and traffic. sal will be here in a moment. but steve, our weather is gonna change beyond what we see today. >> the big change has been the fog. some of it very thick. patrick in redwood shores says san mateo bridge, chris near san bruno says it's come crashing in over the hills. alameda, really thick here. higher clouds coming in from the north. that's the leading edge of our system. it's still cold inland. 30s cold. napa, upper 30s, mid-40s as well. any precip so far seems to be confined to the pacific northwest. some of that is inching towards northern california. for us, the main impact will be a partly to mostly sunny day especially from everywhere i think the north bay where they will get a few clouds. it will be sunny today. it will be cooler. the wind will pick up. the cold air begins to filter in and drops in here by wednesday morning. low to mid-60s. here's sal. >> we have a fatal collision between a car and a pedestrian in san mateo. that's been there now for almost an hour. southbound el camino real which is what you are seeing ri
from the scene, coming up. i'm tori campbell. >> i'm brian flores. dave is off today. let's get a quick look at weather and traffic. rosemary is in for steve. i hope people are bringing their jacket. it's cold. >> another chilly day in store. the big concern, this hour, the freeze warning. some of our coldest temperatures of the morning still holding on. we have 20s and 30s with that freeze warning until 9:00 for the entire bay area with the exception of san francisco. low 20, fairfield, napa, 29 walnut creek, 29 in livermore. mid- to upper 30s at the bay to about 40 in san francisco. half moon bay, 32. received a tweet from pacifica, 33 there. and the heat is on as we get into the north bay, widespread 20s, hillsborough, calistoga, petaluma. you know the drill. bring along the winter coat, dress the little ones, bundle them up. we have another cool day in store. and then big changes coming our way. this system will bring us rain tonight and by tomorrow, snow to the local hills, definitely a possibility. upper 40s today, to low 50s. the rain moving in tonight. i have a lime tine for --
be cleared. that's coming up in just a second. good morning. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm tori campbell. >> good morning. climb dave clark. >>> let's go right to -- good morning. i'm dave clark. >>> let's go right to sal. >> westbound highway 4, right near bailey road. the traffic is narrowing down to one lane and maybe the shoulder. but most of the freeway is blocked. we have a long backup stretching as farther back even in antion. you know how bad it gets without any crashes at all on a monday coming out of highway 4. if this is your commute, you might strongly want to consider putting it off because some of the side roads that i would recommend are now very crowded. people have heard about the crash and they are on side roads. you will be caught up in a bunch of slow traffic. i can't really in good conscious tell you take a side street because everyone else has already thought about that. you are kind of looking at these long delays. if you can get to the b.a.r.t. station, maybe you can do that. but again, highway 4 near bailey road. most of the freeway is blocked. chp has issued a s
